Rhode Island's maritime history is amongst the richest in the
country and possibly the world. Home to Nathaniel Herreshoff,
father and innovator of many of the finest yacht designs in
history, the Americas Cup Hall of Fame, The Yachting Museum, The
International Yacht Restoration School and the nearby Mystic
Seaport. Each of these museums and schools house examples of the
fine craftsmanship of Rhode Island's earliest shipwrights, all of
which contributes to making Rhode Island the "boat building
capital of the world".
